Boketto

Boketto (Japanese) Definition - The act of gazing vacantly into the distance without a thought.

The feeling of stillness in a suffering society. No emotions. no stress. Silence. Disengage. Breath in, breath out.

Relax.

This piece within the ‘Boketto’ utilises by the traditional Japanese print and silhouette in conjunction with a dystopian twist through large cargo pockets, reflective fabric and a mysterious atmosphere.

The koi fish in buddhism often symbolises perseverance and courage.

The higanbana, also known as the red spider lily, is an ominous flower which symbolises loss, abandonment and lost memories.

When paired together, they create a solemn story. By drawing inspirations from both traditional and modern backgrounds, this piece depicts a grim feeling of solitary yet comfort.
